200 PRO SERIES CAST NETS

I believe the previous "reviewer" is confusing their cast nets with another brand or their economy standard 200 series that only has 3/4 lbs of lead per ft. I use both series but prefer the heavier 200PRO Guide Series which has 1.35lbs lead per foot. It's a very solid net and opens like a dream. But even the 3/4 lbs per foot model's sink rate is what you'd expect from a 3/4lb per ft cast net should sink. Some cast net companies have switched their lead cast nets over to coated steel. Another good thing about Ahi USA is that they've stuck with what works - LEAD.

This is a strong durable net and the .25" mesh is perfect for my needs. I like to fish with ghost (glass) minnows and this net allows me to catch them without having to use a seine net. Nothing gets away from this net and the weights draw together nicely.

I have had a chance to use the new net about 5 times catching shad (thread-fin and gizzards) and let me tell you.....you better bring your A-game if you plan on throwing this net for a couple hours (and some muscle relaxers!). It sinks fast, opens up well (till about the 10th throw and I'm so tired I nearly fall out of the boat when I throw it).

Bottom line: good net, sinks fast, opens up well. For the price I would buy again. The bucket it comes in is way to small to use for a storage bucket. Plan on picking up a quality 3 gallon bucket and screw on lid.

A good product.

I have several of these nets and not once have they ripped or tangled on me.
